Stunning, Striking Silver

Take a chance on Love

I am a lucky Woman.
Lucky.Lucky.Lucky! I married the the man I love. It was like a romantic novel. He is a terrific guy, banker by the day, biker at night!!!
We met in school, fell in love. We had our share of problems, we broke up lke a zillion times. I even dates a few jerks!
I would not like to play the blame game. *wink*
The problems just kept on increasing and we decided to move in together.
We lived together for 6 years, Phew!!
It was like choppy sea waves most of the time, but we got through. Trust me , Love will find a way!
We got married last year.. and It was a dream, I managed to look pretty and when I walked down to the 'mandap' ( the place where the wedding took place) and looked at him, I knew he was the one ( yet again) .
You know, take a chance on love.
You may pick the wrong person, make a few mistakes.. But go ahead, take a chance

Exhilarating- Exuberant- Tea!!

Imagine this:

Tiny coal colored pieces tumble into the bubbling hot water, like a playful girl's tresses cascading free . As the bubbles pop, a golden hue fills .. gradually getting darker and darker, till it is as though the dusk fading away and the night walking in stealthily. Then all of a sudden , a flash of white, and wisps of clouds float in.. And all what remains is pure Gold!
That's Tea for me! Green Tea, Lemon Tea, Peach Tea, Ginger Tea, Chocolate Tea, Irani Tea, Home made Tea and best of all - Masala Tea!

Nothing cheers me up like a gud cuppa Tea!
I love the fragrance and flavors of tea; holding onto a hot tea mug warms my hands lifts my spirits!
Tea is nearly 5,000 years old and was discovered, as legend has it, in 2737 B.C. by a Chinese Emperor when some tealeaves accidentally blew into a pot of boiling water. In the 1600s, tea became popular throughout Europe and the American colonies. Since colonial days, tea has played a role in American culture and customs.-

Ruhaani Roomali

Wikipedia defines it as ' a thin bread from the northernmost part of India and Pakistan and a traditional element in Mughlai cuisine. The word rumal means handkerchief in Urdu and Hindi, and the name rumali roti means handkerchief bread. The extreme thinness of the bread and the fact that it is usually served folded like a handkerchief are the probable sources of the name. The consistency and taste is very much like the Lavash bread.'

But for me the simple 'handkerchief' like Indian bread is soul stirring which engulfs my heart in a way no other dish has ever done....
I first heard about ' Roomali Roti' on a trip to Lucknow with my mom about 20 years ago. After spending the day in the lanes of Meena Baazar. I stopped at the magical sight of the roti flying through air and settling down lovingly on the hands of ' the creator'.

Like melted butter enveloping toast, I felt a desire running through my veins. It was not just any roti, it was Magic..

It was what Marilyn Monroe's flying skirt does to men and women alike...
It was like moonlight sprinkling the Taj Mahal with ethereal light...

It is astonishing that something that simple could create such a lasting impression.

20 years later I still love the Roomali as much as I loved back then.

Ruhaani Roomali!

el comienzo!

I am a self confessed Facebook addict. It was a cold winter evening and none of my 'friends' ( read: people in my friend's list) had posted news about their vacations, new dresses, babies, shoes or something as silly as ' good morning'... I was curled up and drowsy with nothing to do.. I landed up on a great fashion blog. So i thought to myself- Wat the hell, why not I write a blog myself!!

I don't know what I will write tomorrow, or whether I will even WRITE.. But if I do, and You read the blogs, I am sure you will be able to relate to me!

So cheers to all Bums, like me!
